  1. Arriving in Maun – Most safaris to the Okavango Delta start in the town of Maun, which serves as the gateway to the delta. Visitors can fly into Maun from major cities in Southern Africa or take a connecting flight from Johannesburg.
  2. Transfer to the delta – From Maun, visitors can take a light aircraft transfer to one of the many lodges or camps located in the delta. The transfer provides a unique aerial view of the delta’s vast landscape.
  3. Accommodation – Visitors can choose from a range of lodges and camps, from luxury tented camps to more budget-friendly options. The lodges and camps are typically located on private concessions within the delta, offering a more exclusive safari experience.
  4. Game drives – Visitors can take guided game drives in open 4×4 vehicles to explore the delta’s diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of antelopes and bird species. Game drives are typically conducted in the early morning and late afternoon when wildlife is most active.
